Kenyam Nduga - The Para Raider Infantry Battalion 503/Mayangkara Kostrad, part of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, held a vibrant Social Communication (Komsos) event with residents of Ulunmu Village in Kenyam District, Papua Pegunungan Province. This initiative aims to strengthen relationships between the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) and local communities, supporting the government’s efforts to accelerate development in the region.
Captain Galih Widiharyo led the engagement at the Batas Batu Post, emphasizing the soldiers’ commitment to addressing the basic needs of the local population. “Since arriving in Papua, we have focused on building connections with the community alongside our security duties, ” said Lieutenant Colonel Gurbasa Samosir, Commander of the 503 Task Forces.

During the event, soldiers and residents engaged in meaningful conversations. The villagers shared updates about the security situation, noting that Ulunmu remains safe and conducive. Local resident Simon Tabuni expressed his gratitude, stating, “Thank you, Commander 503. God bless you.”
Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, the HABEMA Commanding General, acknowledged the importance of this initiative. “The 503 Task Forces’ efforts demonstrate TNI’s commitment to inclusive communication with all community members, which is vital for supporting development in Papua, ” he remarked.
