Papua - In a powerful display of unity and patriotism, residents of Ayata Village gathered with members of the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) to commemorate Youth Pledge Day 2024, celebrating the shared spirit of Indonesia's future. Organized by the Para Raider Infantry Battalion 501/Bajra Yudha Kostrad under the HABEMA Operational Command, this event brought together villagers, soldiers, and local leaders to honor the legacy of Indonesia’s youth with a ceremonial flag-raising and vibrant community activities.

On Friday, 1 November 2024, the ceremony commenced with a solemn flag-raising led by the 501 Task Forces at the heart of Ayata Village, where soldiers and villagers stood side by side. Commander of the 501 Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Yakhya Wisnu Arianto, highlighted the importance of connecting with local communities. His team worked closely with Ayata’s community leaders through Social Communication (Komsos) sessions starting in mid-October to organize an inclusive celebration.

Villagers from all walks of life participated, from tribal chiefs and village officials to enthusiastic students. After the ceremony, the festivities continued with an archery competition, where Ayata’s youth demonstrated skill and camaraderie, filling the event with cheers and community spirit. “Thank you, Commander 501. We are delighted to celebrate Youth Pledge Day together. Long live Indonesia!” said Mr. Daniel Fatemyo, a community leader in Ayata, capturing the sense of pride shared by all.

Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, Commanding General of HABEMA, commended the 501 Task Forces for fostering unity and collaboration with the local community. “The 501 Task Forces' initiative is a shining example of TNI’s inclusive social communication to support development in Papua, ” he stated, reinforcing the lasting impact of such initiatives in promoting peace and progress in the region.

The 2024 Youth Pledge Day celebration in Ayata was more than a ceremonial event; it underscored the deep connection between the TNI and local communities, reflecting a collective commitment to advancing a peaceful and prosperous future in Papua.
